Mobile Display Unit: Optimizing Communication

Here's an option that can help you take your communication to the next level. The M1000 Mobile Display Unit (MDU) functions as a small computer providing a screen display and processing capabilities. It enables text messaging with the base station, voice communication via headset, five programmable "hot keys," and ports for keyboards and serial devices such as printers, credit card readers, or barcode scanners.
Sending Text Messages

You can easily send text messages to your drivers with the M1000, but they can respond to you in two different ways. There are five buttons on the M1000 that you can program with an automatic response. You send your driver a text question; with the touch of a button, your driver responds with one of the pre-programmed answers.
You also have the option of plugging a keyboard in to the M1000. Then your drivers can type more complex responses or ask questions of their own.
Using Your Own Forms
If simple text messaging isn't all you need, we have another option. You can program your own forms--from company work orders to invoices to inventory lists--into the M1000. When your drivers are in the field, they can fill out the paperwork from their remote location and send it
to you from the job site.
Sending Voice Messages

The M1000 can also offer you the added advantage of voice communication. With a simple telephone headset , your drivers can contact you or make outgoing calls.
Some of our clients have chosen to use our system for voice calls and have eliminated cell phones from their vehicles because our system can limit what phone numbers can be called from the vehicle. This feature significantly cuts down on unauthorized phone use. This voice call capability makes us unique in the industry as we are one of the very few to provide it.
